Taxation of Sin Taxes for Health Care Packages of the Future
Most of us probably would prefer to now not have to deal with politics.
This is how we are accused of being ostriches and sticking our heads in the sand. Not a good way to be on an evolving planet that is traveling through space and the space-time continuum.
There are groups of us born in America who is referred to as the Baby Boomers. We are all born to those people who were the survivors of the hard times during the wars World War II, the Korean War, and The Depression.
We are not approaching what was going to be our twilight years. This is part of the way we structured life on earth in the past when the American Dream was still affordable. Now, well, those of us that are way over the hill may have to consider becoming the entrepreneurial spirit for the future of our planet.
It appears we are going to have to pull ourselves up by our bootstraps and become those who can assist in saving the planet. There are many of us born around the time of the Roswell crash July 4, 1947. We are they that bring the hope to those who have none. Faith, hope, and charity are we. We are the challenged generation who once were about what is now termed the “Hippy Generation of Change”. We saw the world in a different perspective. We ventured to think outside the box.
Jesse Ventura was on Larry King Live television show. Jesse has a new book that will share some views on conspiracies in America. One thing I thought was interesting was the fact that Jesse is an Independent as am I. My spouse, Thomas R. Morris, Author/Artist, is also an Independent. We are Americans first and vote for the person and not the party when it comes to elections.
Jesse is supporting the new way to get us in America out of debt. That is with the taxation of “Mary Jane”, from the hemp plant, Marijuana, which is a medicinal herb to many of the Hippy Generation. Jesse likened marijuana to that of those who were beer drinkers at the ball games but without the hangover. Some swear that the good outweighs the bad. Cannot be any worse than the side effects on all the prescription drugs we are allowed to take manufactured by the pharmaceutical companies. Jesse proposed the fact that we could tax the sell as in the “Sin Taxes”. Canada has used sin tax to assist in paying for their health care system. Jesse brought up the fact that Hawaii has a health care system for their state. California has been growing marijuana and selling it for years with a doctor’s prescription.
No one likes to pay taxes in the world. The taxes are to maintain order in chaos in our government. In other words, we all decided at one time we wanted government personnel in administrative positions to maintain order and to share in the functions of rules and regulations for our democracy that we call government. However, we need to pay for the cost.
In the past, our governments have not been run efficiently. We grew fast in the 20th Century. Our infrastructure is in need of repair and is becoming outdated. This will take funds to assist out federal government and out states would like some assistance from our federal government. Therefore, we impose federal and state taxes.
Tax is a compulsory contribution or payment, usually in the form of money, levied according to law upon a person for the support of government. Alternatively, for the promotion and regulation of social objectives.
Tax must be for public purpose and it must be uniform upon all taxpayers or given class. The taxes are levied without the reference of the benefits that an individual taxpayer receives. The taxpayer may influence and enhance the government through consideration of both benefit and ability to influence tax policies. However, there is a catch in all the taxations to pay for our countries government.
Congress is forbidden to tax reports, to levy direct taxes unless appointed among the States according to population except for income taxes. Congress is forbidden to expend the fund raised by taxation for purposes other than the common defense or general welfare; or to show a preference for the ports among the various and different state. This in effect means that taxes must be uniform throughout the states and incorporated territories.
Taxation without representation is tyranny. An American rallying cry in the period before the Revolution was based on the theory that only colonial assemblies could levy taxes. The tax base is used as the unit of taxation of a taxpayer for annual net income, the value of property, or of a decedent’s estate, or the number, weight, volume, or value of articles of a certain kind.
The Tax Court of the United States was created in Congress in 1924 as the Board of Tax Appeals, which hears and decided cases appealed by taxpayers from the decisions of the Commissioner of the Internal Revenue.
Americans are taxed in order to finance governmental activities needed to run a country. Being fair about paying taxes are generally based on the benefits received and the ability to pay. The President of the United States has suggested that those with the ability to pay should pay more. The present income tax base is suggested that those who create income of $250,000.00 or more and report such should pay more taxes to assist the government exist. This is not favorable since all people receive the benefits whether they are young, old, sick, poor, rich, or in good health, or dying. We are all dying from the time we are born so that does not wash. Although, many people who are Christians in America do observe the need to take care of those who are young, ill, and old. This has been our American way. However, those who are not too young to work, to ill to work, or too old to work are considered part of the world’s working class in America.
We are working on the future of the world’s infrastructure. Other countries in the world have been taking advantage of our American jobs overseas. They have been able to take advantage of corporations that have been creating jobs globally such as Caterpillar. Jim Owens the President/CEO of Caterpillar has a thought process and education as an Economist. Jim has done an excellent job of sharing how one should run a government the way that corporations are run with the budgets and bottom lines understood and the benefits of net income to be shared by the investors and stockholders, as well as, the employees who benefit from having a job.
Jim Owns knows that no one likes taxation and that we must have out government sustained not just in America but also around the world in governments. This man is one of many brilliant men in the world that can assist in the new ways of the future infrastructure for all on planet earth. We should listen to him about how he has assisted the Caterpillar Corporation in the global market. It is time that we all learn to listen from those who are already a part of a working model.
We have personal income that individuals are required to pay on their earnings. The personal income tax is the Federal Governments largest single source of revenue and a major source of all the State Governments revenue.
Sales Taxes are the tax added to the retail price of goods and services such as the General Sales Tax.
Excise Taxes are selective sales tax that is a state tax levies against certain and specific items such as what we refer to as “Sin Taxes” on such goods as tobacco, alcoholic beverages, and possibly in the future marijuana.
Since America was founded based on the Christian Faith of those who came to America seeking relief from religion persecution it seems only right that we allow those who desire to use marijuana to be allowed to purchase this legally and we as Americans can all reap the benefits from the taxes as income for the Federal Government. I am not a smoker of any kind of tobacco or hemp nor do I consume alcohol, but, I do not see any difference in us legalizing marijuana from that of tobacco and alcohol. We have some drugs that may need to be outlawed that are legal already. Maybe the federal government needs to propose a bill for health care with care for those who need it and have no ability to pay based on age and illness. Then allow the “Sin Taxes” pay for those who need health care. We can have various levels of health care packages the same way we have various consumer products. Like cars at the Cadillac pricing versus the cheapest conservative car like my Ford Taurus.
